A month on, the house has not moved: Boundless still stands on the US site at $395 under the line saying it is not available online there, and the EU store still has no page for it at all. Journey Man does have one, and is still selling at the same $395 — which is worth saying, because it was the other name in the spring rumour, the one said to be going next. The last thing anyone could buy is getting smaller. The Perfumed Court, which has had Tobacco Mandarin on last call since July, has lost the 5 ml — the largest decant it sold a fortnight ago — and the listing now stops at 3 ml for $62.95, with quarter- and half-millilitre vials under it. The shop's other last-call bottle, Tom Ford's Beau de Jour, still goes up to 15 ml, so the ceiling has dropped on this one alone. Full bottles remain out of stock wherever they are listed, Niche Gallery in Dubai included at AED 1,567.50. There is nothing left to investigate: the house does not sell it, the boutiques cannot replace what they have, and what is still going out is somebody else's bottle poured into a vial. · 3 d ago

The full size has left the house's own catalogue. In July the 100 ml still had a US page — sold out, offering a waitlist — and that page is now gone; what Penhaligon's still lists under the name is a 15 ml sample in the US and a 5 ml in the UK, nothing larger in either market. Halfeti and Halfeti Leather keep their 100 ml bottles on both sites, so this is one fragrance leaving rather than the trio. Nineteen years in the catalogue, and the last week of August finds it selling as normal: 90, 210 and 370 euros, all three sizes live. The list it closes has meanwhile grown by one — Dernière Chance now holds a twelfth name, the limited-edition Fleur d'Oranger, whose single 30 ml size is sold out and cannot be ordered.
