About

The person behind Snifflist

In 2018 I fell into perfume the hard way: through Luca Turin’s Guides. I read both editions cover to cover, then spent the next years hunting down every four- and five-star fragrance I could find — chasing bottles across half of Europe, refreshing shop pages, asking retailers if that one discontinued gem was really gone.

What I kept wishing existed was simple: one place that tells you what’s coming, what’s quietly disappearing, and where you can still buy it — with evidence, not forum rumours. It didn’t exist. So I built it.

Snifflist tracks niche fragrances across a curated set of boutiques I know and trust. The Release Radar watches what’s landing. The Discontinuation Watch documents what’s leaving — every status backed by a sourced, time-stamped trail. The Canon is my slowly growing list of fragrances worth your attention and money. Prices and stock are checked daily, by machines I built and supervise personally.

Snifflist is made by one person — me, Jan, a collector from the Czech Republic. Some buy links earn a small commission that keeps the servers running; it never influences what gets tracked or what makes the Canon. When I have an opinion, I sign it.
