A limited edition for a hotel's 150th birthday: Pissara Umavijani composed Light of Bangkok for the Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, the riverside hotel she grew up walking past with her father. Lemongrass, treasured in Thailand, opens it against orris butter from the French half of her training โ€” the pairing the whole thing is built on โ€” with bergamot and clary sage sharpening the freshness, jasmine and ylang-ylang in the heart, and sandalwood, vetiver and musk underneath.

Light of Bangkok launched on 16 February 2026, the day Parfums Dusita and the Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok announced the collaboration for the hotel's 150th anniversary. Dusita sells it direct at EUR 190 for 50 ml, and it has travelled beyond the two partners: Fumerie and ZGO Perfumery both list the 50 ml at USD 230 with a sample beside it, and ZGO offers it for collection in San Francisco. Parfumo files it as a limited edition, and the earliest wear report there is dated 31 May. Fragrantica and Parfumo carry the same nine notes and both credit Pissara Umavijani, the house's founder and its only perfumer; they part company only over the iris, which Fragrantica files as orris root and Parfumo as the orris butter Umavijani names herself.
