Lavender pulled deliberately away from the fougère it usually implies: bergamot over lavender, tuberose and birch tar, settling into tonka bean, benzoin and ambroxan for a leathered, lived-in warmth. Named for 12 Avenue Victor Hugo, where Jacques Fath opened its first boutique, and built to smell like the room rather than the street.

Jean-Christophe Hérault composed it to a brief from creative director Rania Naim: take a recognisably French lavender and make it modern and gender-neutral, add tactile warmth, and deliberately avoid the fougère blueprint. The house's own pyramid runs bergamot essence over lavender essence, tuberose absolute and birch tar, closing on tonka bean, benzoin, ambroxan and Symphonide; an early wearing describes the smoke as a suggestion rather than a bonfire, and the leather as unusually fine.

Jacques Fath has opened pre-orders on its own shop at 139 € for 100 ml, in limited quantities, and says it anticipates the fragrance being ready by October 2026 — no firmer date than that, and the launch day is still to be announced. Le 12 Victor Hugo joins Fath's Essentials and takes its name from 12 Avenue Victor Hugo, where the Maison opened its first boutique in July 2025. The flacon reads Parfum, as every Fath's Essentials label does; the house sells this one as an eau de parfum.
