Я, Russian for "I", is one of the eight extraits de mémoire with which David-Lev Jipa-Slivinschi launched Toskovat' in Bucharest in 2022, and the one he built most abstractly, around identity. Its memory is a morning after a midnight of grapes and a touch, "our foundations mixing". Lychee, mango, twelve grapes and champagne open it before a powdery heart of make-up foundation, the accord at its centre, with carnation, gardenia and iris. It settles on suede, tolu balsam, musk and vanilla, poured as an extrait.
