Desert Fire is Day Three's second collaboration with singer-songwriter Colton Dixon, the night to Desert Rain's day. Where the first was an almost photo-realistic desert after rain, Michael Paul, the house's owner and perfumer, built this one as a statement. It opens green and peppery on shiso and pink pepper, darkens through palo santo, frankincense and myrrh, and settles into smoky woods, cypriol and leather. An extrait de parfum, hand bottled in Gilbert, Arizona.

Fragrantica's launch report dates the release to Friday 25 September, on the house's website and at its Arizona boutique. Dixon calls the pair "a yin and yang duo" that shares several ingredients, and Michael Paul calls Desert Fire "more of a statement piece" than the narrative Desert Rain. The reviewer finds it mostly leather, cypriol and frankincense over smoky woods.

Day Three released Desert Fire on its own shop as an extrait de parfum: $175 for 50 ml, $40 for 10 ml and a 1.5 ml sample. The house sets it as the sequel to Desert Rain: "Desert Rain captured the calm. Desert Fire captures the heat."
