Released

Top

Base

Initio's most restrained oud. Bergamot and black pepper hold the edge, praline and vanilla carry the sweetness, and oud sits in a bed of sandalwood, cedarwood and guaiacwood rather than out in front of it. It joins the Black Gold Project, the collection the house builds entirely around oud, and pulls it towards gourmand woodiness instead of smoke.

Thirteen owner reviews had been written by 1 September 2026, so bottles are in hands and not only on shelves. The pyramid filed there — bergamot, then praline and black pepper, then vanilla, cedarwood, oud, sandalwood and guaiac wood — is the house's own, rearranged into tiers Initio does not print.

Beauty SCENE reviewed it on 20 August 2026 as one of Initio's most interesting releases so far, and put the emphasis where the house does: the oud is measured rather than dominant, which is the departure from the rest of the Black Gold Project.
