Kong is Mathew Schmuelian's unlikely pairing for his New York house Lost Tribe: real banana, not the candy kind, alongside pumpkin spice, edged with bitter almond and a thread of incense. Frangipani and magnolia keep it from tipping into dessert while roasted barley adds a toasty, bready depth, and amber carries it down to four ouds, Rengit Crassna, Rembau, Royal Belum and Merauke, with beeswax, massoia and vanilla, all of it carried in a Mongolian deer musk tincture.
