Aurea is an oriental gourmand from Parfums d'Elmar, the house a former Swiss private banker, Elmar Métry, founded near Zurich in 2017, and its brief is the gleam of liquid gold, carried into a flacon that fades from gold to amber. Mandarin and bitter orange open over a chocolate-chip cookie, dark rum and cognac; cinnamon, star anise, tolu balsam and saffron warm the heart, and vanilla, labdanum and leather settle it. Like the whole line, it is a Quintessence de Parfum at 35% oil, made in Grasse.
