Saffron Fever

Eau de Parfum by Regime des Fleurs
Nose: Alia Raza
Released

Alia Raza took on saffron for being awkward — woody, mineral, honeyed, suede-like, with a smoulder under it — and built a slow burn around it, with pomegranate and oud alongside, bergamot, blood orange and osmanthus at the edges, and vanilla, musk and sandalwood beneath. Régime des Fleurs first made it by hand as a limited edition in a 30 ml bottle.

Luckyscent has it back in the 75 ml at $275, the size and price the rest of Régime des Fleurs is sold in, and files it as an eau de parfum rather than a hand-made extrait. It is taking pre-orders, with bottles expected to ship in the middle of September.

The limited run is over at the house: a search of regimedesfleurs.com returns nothing for Saffron Fever, and Fait Main — the hand-made collection it belonged to — is an empty page.

Now Smell This carried the launch on 24 March: a limited edition at $220 for 30 ml, with Raza's own explanation of why saffron — it gives perfume, she says, "unusual complexity" — and the notes standing around it, pomegranate and oud, bergamot, blood orange, osmanthus, vanilla, musk and sandalwood.
