Spice is the Expressive of Commodity's Spice trilogy, and the composition the other two grew from: Christelle Laprade's first answer to the "Saffron Sunset" brief, later turned inward for the Personal and darkened for the Bold. She assembled its saffron from three materials instead of the oil and steeped it like chai, with allspice from pimento leaf, then cinnamon sugar and condensed milk, over tonka bean and sandalwood. Oil at 20%, and the one Laprade says she reaches for every day.

Commodity released Spice, the Expressive Scent Space, with the rest of its Spice trilogy on 6 October 2026: $160 for 100 ml and $36 for 10 ml on the house's US shop, €160 and €36 in its European one. The house files it "Spicy | Ambery | Gourmand", oil at 20%, "for me and the many around me".

The house's making-of piece calls the Expressive the trilogy's foundation: once Laprade had settled it, she was asked to derive the Personal (with Helvetolide and Ambroxan) and the Bold from it. Its saffron is a blend of Safraleine, Safranal and Flowerpool, the allspice a reading of pimento leaf, and condensed milk carries the chai. She describes the Expressive as a balance of spice and sweetness, and the one she would wear every day.
