She read the brief, "Saffron Sunset", through chai — saffron and allspice; cinnamon sugar, condensed milk and Safraleine; tonka bean. Behind it is Vicken Arslanian's childhood in an Armenian household in Kuwait, days dry, dusty and hot, set against spices and desserts dripping with sugar.

Commodity's blog set the Spice trilogy's launch for Tuesday 6 October 2026, with early access before it. Laprade built the saffron from Safraleine, Safranal and, less expectedly, Flowerpool rather than from saffron oil, turned pimento leaf into the allspice, and for the Bold pushed saffron and spice toward "a deeper leathery quality" — though the Expressive, she says, is the one she would wear every day.
