O, Unknown! is the third Imaginary Authors scent credited to Philip Sava, the invented explorer behind Memoirs of a Trespasser and Cape Heartache, and it tells his last journey: given under a year to live at 65, he leaves Madagascar on foot and wanders for a decade through Nepal, Tibet and rural China. Josh Meyer made the 2017 eau de parfum a smoky iris, orris butter steeped in black tea and lapsang souchong over moss, musk balsam and sandalwood, with one note left as ???.

ÇaFleureBon's Robert Herrmann reviewed it on 26 October 2017 as Josh Meyer's close to the Philip Sava trilogy that Memoirs of a Trespasser (2012) and Cape Heartache (2013) began. He found an orris fragrance at heart, dry and powdery, with the lapsang souchong tincture bringing smoke and something of an aged whisky to the tea.

Now Smell This announced O, Unknown! on 24 October 2017 as Imaginary Authors' new eau de parfum, the story of the explorer Philip Sava setting out from Madagascar with less than a year to live. It came in 14 ml at $38 and 50 ml at $95.
