The third Jinx composed by Cassandra, Arthur Clayton Emrick's assistant at the house, written as an ode to the end of summer and the turn toward cooler nights. It is a plum and patchouli perfume first: a photorealistic plum accord that Emrick built himself, peach, pear and grape crowding round it at the edge of ripe, then two patchoulis, one dark and one light, pulling the sweetness back toward earth while iris, carnation, geranium and lily of the valley dry and cool the flowers. Underneath, Mysore sandalwood from 1965 and Bang Mot oud carry it down, and vanilla and vintage civet turn it animal as it goes — unusual materials, used in quantity. Sold in 15 ml and 30 ml.
