Riddler is a limited edition from Lost Tribe, the New York house of Mathew Schmuelian, who wanted to see what a purple accord would do to fir, one of his favourite cold-weather notes, and pushed both as far as they would go. Grape, raspberry and black currant open it jammy, lifted by bergamot and clary sage; orris butter, magnolia, rose and clove bind the purple to fir absolute in the heart, and Papua oud, cedar, jade wood and black hemlock carry the evergreen into the drydown.
