Vanille Absolu is Montale's vanilla, composed by the house's founder Pierre Montale and kept in the plain silver aluminium flacon he took from the Grasse practice of resting concentrates in aluminium vats, where the metal shuts out light and lets the perfume mature. It opens on ripe plum and candied cherry, settles into a boozy vanilla with melting caramel, and dries down on white musk. An eau de parfum the house calls the signature vanilla of its collection.
