Fougère d'Argent is Tom Ford's 2018 Private Blend take on the barbershop fougère, composed by Olivier Gillotin and Linda Song. The classic accord rests on oakmoss, now heavily restricted, so the house rebuilt its bitter, earthy floor around akigalawood, Givaudan's spiced patchouli captive. Mandarin, bergamot and a bright ginger open onto two French lavenders, cistus warms the heart and coumarin settles it, in an eau de parfum the house calls bold and sleek as silver.
