Blodwode is Middle English for blood wood, and in the scents Heretic's founder and perfumer Douglas Little composed for Robert Eggers' Werwulf it is the memory: the forest recalling what it witnessed once the man became a wolf, told through the aftermath rather than the gore. Cinnamon bark, mastic and a copper-bright iron accord open onto jasmine and Turkish rose; patchouli, vetiver, benzoin and a flesh musk lay the metal against soft woods until it reads as skin.

The 30 ml of Blodwode can be pre-ordered from Heretic at $125, with shipping due on 6 November 2026. Its pyramid comes in the collection's archaic spelling — Cynamon Bark, Lentisque and Yren-Blod; Jasmin and Rose of Turkye; patchouli, vetiver, benzoin and a flesh musk — and the house glosses the name as "Blood Wood".

In Forbes on 26 October 2026, Celia Shatzman sets out Douglas Little's idea of Blodwode as the last of the collection's three witnesses, the forest remembering the transformation after it has passed. He pairs a high, copper-bright iron-rust note with soft woods that read as skin, and expects it to divide wearers most: "everyone's going to interpret blood differently."
