Foundation is a musk built to stay out of the way. Dr. Justin Frederico, who co-created Perfumology's Clutch, set a soft musk accord among fixatives, so that in the Accords layering idea it sits under the other bottles and lends them depth and cohesion while they do the talking. Alone, this extrait wears as a quiet, skin-like musk. The idea goes back to the boutique's 2022 Foundation JF, his "base of everything".

Perfumology's older accord of the same name, Foundation JF, went on sale in May 2022 and is also by Justin Frederico. The house sells it as Everything & Nothing, built around the idea of "the base of everything" from Iso E Super, soft musks, amber accords and green vetiver at 25% concentration, at $95 for 100 ml when read on 5 November 2026.
