Gardenia is white flower with the cream left in, by the shop's account rich and velvety, sweet and heady, the smell of freshly opened petals on warm air. Nathalie Feisthauer, who composed Van Cleef & Arpels' Gardénia Pétale, takes the flower here as one accord at extrait strength for Perfumology, the Philadelphia boutique. Worn alone it is the whole perfume; layered, it is the white floral a wearer adds to their own mix.
