Amouage's 2021 eau de parfum, and a far warmer thing than its opening suggests: blood orange, cardamom, ginger and elemi burn off into bourbon vanilla and benzoin, then into a long resinous base of tobacco, myrrh, frankincense and cacao over guaiac wood, patchouli, vetiver, papyrus and oakmoss. The house sells it on euphoria and light; the drydown is where it actually lives.

A month on, the house has not moved: Boundless still stands on the US site at $395 under the line saying it is not available online there, and the EU store still has no page for it at all. Journey Man does have one, and is still selling at the same $395 — which is worth saying, because it was the other name in the spring rumour, the one said to be going next. Whatever has taken Boundless has not reached it.

Amouage's EU storefront does not carry Boundless at all — not sold out, simply absent, while the rest of the men's line sits there in stock. The US page is still up and still out of stock. Boutiques have not caught up: Alla Violetta holds the 100 ml at EUR 370 and Niche Gallery at AED 1,186.55, both of which go through at checkout, while Escentica lists it sold out.
