Is Trompette 8 by Filippo Sorcinelli discontinued? Not confirmed — we are investigating a possible discontinuation. Latest evidence, Nov 5, 2026: Filippo Sorcinelli no longer sells Trompette 8. In August 2025 its Extrait de Musique collection held six 50 ml extraits at €165, this one among them, and the house was still offering the bottle in September 2025. The collection now holds ORGAN #1 to #7, 100 ml at €200, listed since 3 June 2026, and Trompette 8's own page is gone.
Trompette 8 is an organ's brass section in a bottle: a reed stop, among the oldest registers, that speaks loud, metallic and scratchy. Filippo Sorcinelli scores this extrait in the terms of a fugue: incense, labdanum and black pepper are the subject that stays, cedar and chili the countersubject, and bergamot, pink pepper and elemi the coda that burns off first. The cap copies the stop-knob of Notre-Dame's Grand Orgue, the instrument his Extrait de Musique line sets to scent.
