Is Unda maris 8 by Filippo Sorcinelli discontinued? Not confirmed — we are investigating a possible discontinuation. Latest evidence, Nov 5, 2026: The house's Extrait de Musique page now holds seven new scents, ORGAN #1 to #7, published on 3 June 2026 as 100 ml extraits at €200; its Cartuccera sampler calls them "le 7 fragranze dei nuovi Extrait de Musique". They tell new stories, the first of gladioli in a side chapel, and none keeps an organ stop's name. Unda maris 8, on sale at the house at €165 for 50 ml in October 2025 and out of stock on 11 May 2026, has since left the shop. The house has not called it discontinued.
Unda maris 8 takes its name from an organ stop of two identical pipes, one tuned slightly flat, so that the sound wavers like the sea. It belongs to Extrait de Musique, first shown as SAUF in 2016, in which Filippo Sorcinelli, organist and maker of liturgical vestments for popes at his LAVS atelier, turned the stops of Notre-Dame's Grand Orgue into perfumes, each bottle capped with a replica drawknob. His extrait sets a salt wind and myrtle against the line's incense.
