Violon Basse 16 draws its smoke from the pipes of a 16-foot string-toned stop often found in the organ's pedal: the house says their robust wood gives off an intense, smoky scent when worked. Filippo Sorcinelli's extrait de parfum, from his Extrait de Musique line, opens on juniper, lavender and elemi, then sinks through fir resin, iris and smoke to labdanum, vetiver and tonka.
