Cacao Porcelana is Atelier Materi's study of one material, a rare white cocoa that founder Véronique Le Bihan names as Gran Blanco de Piura, from old plantations in northwest Peru. Perfumer Marie Hugentobler worked with a French master chocolatier whose roast stops short of burnt caramel, keeping the bean's floral, balsamic and licorice side. Rum and immortelle open it, jasmine, davana and tobacco follow, and the bitter cocoa settles into patchouli, sandalwood and tonka. An eau de parfum.
